This particular program has raised more than half a billion dollars enabling the purchase of over five million acres of habitat that are included in the National Wildlife Refuge System thus making the Federal Duck Stamp Program one of the most successful conservation programs ever initiated. Each year the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service sponsors the Federal Duck Stamp art competition. numbered out of just 400, is made into a one-of-a-kind collectable by the
